March 1 through April 4
Brighten a long gray day of winter with a visit to Northland Library to see the 4th Annual Yarn Bomb Extravaganza. An explosion of color, pattern and textures will transform both levels of Northland Library into a cheerful bright place to be during the month of March.
Yarn bombing is a bright, whimsical art installation of colorful displays of knitted or crocheted items and fiber art to celebrate public spaces. The 2013 Knit the Bridge project in downtown Pittsburgh is one of the best local examples of this unique fiber exuberance.
Flowers, animals of all kinds, a clock flower and large dream catchers are past favorite creations. Throughout the “bombing”, a scavenger hunt for kids will once again be featured. Stop by to see what imagination has created this year! You’re invited to explore this free art installation in the Library from March 1 through April 4.
