About the Planning Commission
The planning process is handled through the planning commission, a nine member recommending body that reviews development plans to make sure they comply with the zoning as well as the subdivision and land development ordinances. Some of the items they look for when reviewing Site Plans are landscaping, site lighting, traffic concerns, and building esthetics. They also review applications for subdivision, rezoning and conditional uses and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners the final decision making body. The Planning Commission is also responsible for the development of the Comprehensive Plan and Strategic Plan for Ross Township.
The Planning Commission meets in the Commissioner's Meeting Room at the Ross Township Municipal Center on the fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM. Meeting schedules may be changed to accommodate holidays or special events.
