President's Report

  • I was honored to be invited to participate in a Joint Democratic Policy Hearing on Supporting Emergency Services and Fire Responders. I spoke about the challenges Ross Township faces and the plans we are following through with to improve the fire protection services in Ross Township.    Watch the Hearing!
    Supporting First Responders: Lessons Learned
  • I was invited to be a panelist at the 2025 ALOM Spring Educational Conference to discuss the growing deer population problem in Ross Township. I discussed the steps Ross Township has taken to implement a deer management program and the current state of the program.
    • Ross Township just completed the 5th year of our archery program.
    • On April 21st, the Board of Commissioners authorized Suburban Whitetail Management to begin the process of conducting a Deer Cull Program. This program would further increase the number of deer harvested on an annual basis in order to better control the deer population.

Storm Recap


The storms that struck Ross Township on April 29th brought significant damage and widespread power outages to our community. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the Police Department and Public Works for their exceptional efforts during this challenging period. Additionally, we commend our residents for their camaraderie and neighborly assistance to one another. To help with cleanup, we arranged for multiple dumpsters at the municipal building for the disposal of spoiled food and storm-related debris. The Public Works Department prolonged our limb collection service to assist with the overall cleanup process, reaching over 100 households. Thank you to our residents for their patience while our community faced this challenging event.

Earth Day Volunteers

A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean up our community for Earth Day 2025! Many crews were in neighborhoods, while others assisted Parks & Recreation at Bruno Sammartino Park. Thank you all for your efforts and hard work!

McKnight Road Lane Closures

McKnight Road Work


PennDOT has announced long-term road work on McKnight Road.

Work will include bridge and culvert preservation, milling and paving, base repairs, drainage upgrades and repairs, pipe cleaning, guide rail, signal, and ADA ramp upgrades, waterline replacement, concrete mountable curb replacement, new signage, and new pavement markings. Work is scheduled to finish in Summer of 2025.

PTC Open Road Tolling

Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Announces:

Open Road Tolling 


This January, the PA Turnpike launched Open Road Tolling (ORT) east of Reading and along the Northeast Extension. The rest of the PA Turnpike will adopt the change in 2027. 

Under the ORT system, tolls are charged electronically as customers drive at highway speeds beneath overhead structures called gantries without slowing down or stopping at toll booths. Equipment on the gantry and in the roadway classifies and identifies the vehicle and electronically processes tolls, allowing for free-flowing traffic, while also reducing accidents, improving the environment and enabling new access points. You will begin to see toll booth demolition this spring.
