ALCOSAN - Allegheny County Sanitary Authority

ALCOSAN provides sewage treatment for all Township residents and businesses, and invoices the Township based upon the water usage (readings from West View Water) of each sewer user. ALCOSAN maintains approximately 90 miles of interceptor sewers that convey wastewater to a 59-acre treatment plant on Pittsburgh's North Side. Wastewater travels through municipal or authority-owned sewer systems to ALCOSAN's interceptor sewers and is conveyed to their treatment plant. The water then passes through many processes to remove anything harmful before it is discharged into the Ohio River.
